Folie à Deux

Creative Ingredients: Videography & Photography

This is a play inspired by the true story of the Papin sisters. On the 2nd February 1933, after having worked in the house of the Lanselin family for seven years, Cristine and Lea Papin brutally murdered their mistress and her daughter. This play, which lingers between the Real and the Symbolic, is an invitation for the actresses to escape from their habitual movement patterns and discover and new ways to embody and express their emotions and desires. The spectator, present to this somatic and phychologic climax, is called to acknowledge the cause rather than the effect of this horrific act that shoked the French society in the 1930s.
